Philanthropy Northwest 2010 Annual Conference
Start Date:
Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - Friday, October 1, 2010
Event Description:
The beautiful Semiahmoo Resort on the northwest coast of Washington – 100 miles north of Seattle and just south of the Canadian border – will set the stage as we explore this year’s conference theme: “The Power of Place.”
The 2010 Annual Conference will explore how philanthropy can strengthen communities from the bottom up. What happens when we listen first, and act second? How can funders form true partnerships with grantees, policymakers and organizations? In sessions on the nonprofit ecosystem, Native philanthropy, poverty reduction, access to higher education, local funding alliances, the public dimensions of philanthropy and much more, we will work to understand the complexities of Northwest places - and how philanthropy can work within communities for the common good.
