All About IRIS
Wednesday, October 19

10 - 11amPT/1 - 2pmET
When evaluating or making an investment, how do you know which project will end up performing better? Hear how foundations are using the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS) as a tool for evaluating performance, monitoring impact, making investment decisions and communicating about their work. Sarah Gelfand of the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) will provide an overview of IRIS, a free tool for social, environmental, and financial performance reporting, and will offer next steps for foundations interested in using IRIS. Network members Lisa Kleissner (KL Felicitas Foundation) and Susan Phinney Silver (Packard Foundation), along with foundation consultants Monica Jain and Will Morgan, will share how their foundations have adapted and utilized IRIS to support their PRI programs.

IRIS has been developed to help investors establish and monitor performance and support the impact investing industry by standardizing terminology, increasing the credibility of social and environmental performance data, and facilitating investment comparability and performance benchmarking. GIIN has released its first analysis of IRIS performance data and the initiative has been endorsed by 29 prominent impact investors.
