Investing in the Health Safety Net

The nation’s health safety net is under greater demands than ever, with the 20 million persons now served by Federally Qualified Health Centers expected to grow to 40 million by 2015, creating significant capital needs. Health-focused foundations are finding important opportunities to respond and leverage public sector credit enhancement programs through program-related investments in community health centers and other safety net organizations.
